Can I install any surface material to your wall vents?Updated 4 months ago
Can I install tile or any heavy stone material?
We do not recommend installing any sort of heavy surface material to the center tray of our wall vents. Placing too much weight on the tray can cause the tabs to bend and eventually break.
If you plan on installing these vents in a tiled wall, we recommend checking out our Flush Floor Vent [Luxe], Flush Floor Vent [Lite], Framed Floor Vent [Luxe] or Framed Floor Vent [Lite], which can all be used as wall vents.
Can I install these floor vents on a tiled ceiling?
We don't recommend installing our floor vents in your ceiling because the weight of the material you are using may not support the locking tabs of the tray.
Can I install wood?
We don't recommend attaching wood panels to our wall/ceiling vents, as they're not designed to hold the weight of wood. Depending on how it's applied, the wood may not allow the tray/plate to be fully secured. However, we've seen customers attempt this install in the past. (Here's an example!) To achieve a seamless look, please note that the unit would have to be further recessed into the wall to accommodate the depth of the additional material on the front panel. In any case, we'd recommend speaking with a specialist or professional installer for this project.
